    Checking in From A-stan

    Hey everyone,
I've been gone for quite a while from here, but finally get about an hour of internet access a month here in Helmand province, so I thought I'd drop a line and let everyone know that I am doing fine, as is my unit. We had a bit of excitement last month, but everyone came through ok. Other than that the Afghan winter is now over, and our 3 days of spring have already turned into 100 degrees with high humidity, this country is so lovely.

Anyways, everyone who has been keeping us in thoughts and prayers, thank you, we have definitely had a guardian angel with us on a few occassions. Everyone stay safe back in the states

Fair winds and following seas!! (That's a Navy expression, and I'd guess other than your Corpsmen, sailors are few and far between). Thanks for your service. Watch your six.

May the Man watch over you, your unit, and ALL our men and women in uniform. Stay safe and "check six" on a regular basis...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

    Hi From Delaware

I have several friends over there with you. Stay safe and keep your head down.

It's funny you mention it is a beautiful country, I noticed the same thing about Vietnam, the country itself was very beautiful, and the sky I think was the most beautiful that I have seen about anywhere else in the world.
