Detroit: CPL holder arrested even tho his permit was valid

Nothing earth-shattering, just thought it was interesting since I live here.

Bottom line: A 63 year old Vietnam Vet, business owner, arrested even though his permit was valid. It appears that his renewal never made it into the computer system.

In the related video they mention the huge increase in CPL requests and how swamped Wayne County gov't is in dealing with them...

It really gave me a warm fuzzy about living in Detroit...

    Why was this man arrested?

This is why we have lawsuits...he had a proper permit...but because the state screwed up, HE'S got to pay the price? Nope. One would think that if the permit he presented had an expiration date in the future (3? 5? years), that it would be valid....but because the computer (which is never wrong, right?) screwed up, he's arrested....

Sheesh. I hope Oakland County is more reliable with the updates.

The man was arrested because someone at the PD did not do their job. Budget cuts, my butt.
