    Shucks, I've knocked squirrels out of trees at ranges longer than that with my .22! (in my dreams.) That .338 is one heck of a round, but I can't imagine hitting anything at that range. Good eyes for sure. I thought I was doing good on rockchucks at 400 yds with a .223.

    according to some ballistic tables I saw, the bullet drop alone was a bit over 400 feet, and the flight time was 6 seconds or so.

    I have a hard time shooting at a deer @ 100yds. with the cold, buck fever and the thought of getting heckled at deer camp if I miss.
