    Driver's License linked to CCW?

After searching DC and other related sources, I can't find even a good anecdotal list of states in which a law enforcement query of a driver's license reveals a CCW. I'm surprised that there doesn't seem to be such a list already compiled, but since nature abhors a vacuum, I'll get the ball rolling.

    Simply stated, here's the question:

In your state, does that fact that the subject possesses a CCW show up when a routine Driver's License inquiry is made by a LEO?

Please don't respond with a guess or with third-hand knowledge. Ideally, our LE members will provide definitive answers. I'll post when I'm at least 80% complete... I'm 6/50ths complete so far!

I will have to say NO for some cities in Maine based on this fact from this previous thread.

Below is from my last post to that thread.

I thought it would have been automatically added as I am sure most people do, so you might want to contact your local PD to find out if you are in the system to be on the safe side.

NC permits are linked to the DL. I understand that running tags will also show info associated with the registered owner.

What I've been told by local LEO' in Mass & Ct. they have to switch screens to check on permit. So info is at their finger tips, Troopers not sure about.

I've been told that in Virginia

That vehicle registration is linked to the concealed carry database. Therefore when the police pull a car over, as soon as they run the license plates that they know that the owner has a concealed carry permit.

Yes, In Missouri, once the sheriff issues you a letter telling you that your CCW is approved, you have 30 days to go to a Missouri Department of Revenue Motor Vehicle Bureau. You have two choices. 1. renew your drivers license and have CCW printed at the top or, 2. obtain a Missouri non-driver license ID that has CCW printed at the top. Missouri has a statewide database that will display CCW on either a DL or a non-DL ID.

Most here get the MO non-DL ID and carry both a DL and a non-DL ID with them. The Non-DL ID avoids potential problems with certain store clerks, banks, etc, that are posted no-firearms and where you might need to show an ID. A DL without CCW plastered at the top is all the clerk sees. This prevents them from sometimes signaling the manager and causing a scene. If stopped by LE, you show them the DL and the Non-DL. It is not required to show the non-DL with CCW but they will know anyway.

Yes in TN. Permit number is your DL number and come from the Department of Safety. One call gets it all.

In Michigan it is linked to driver's license and also to your license plate.
