I got as far as 4:12 and then I broke something in my eye, and it somehow started watering.

Great Video!!! My Dad passed on June 9th, 2009. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II and the Korean War. Our local VFW has a VOLUNTEER group that provides an Honor Guard for Military funerals. It is a mixture of all branches and they do an excellent job. They took care of my Dad's funeral service. Active duty bases no longer have the manpower nor the money for travel inorder to provide an Honor Guard made up of active duty personnel. My hat is off to these volunteers. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!!
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Little Rock AFB does. Our Honor Guard travels thru-out AR, Southern MO, parts of Eastern OK and thru-out all of TN, I believe. We have troops volunteer for the position on a pretty regular basis, tho there are some who are voluntold.

It was a regular detail when I first entered ('71). No permanent HG assigned. I avoided funerals for personal reasons and dreaded it when my turns came around. Much respect, but too tramatic for me.

Every base I've been on still has it as a regular detail. The hard part for us, is that there are allot of retirees hitting that point now, and we can't keep up. It's great to see a group like this take the initiative to honor the fallen.

When I was with the 101st in 78, we to rotated that duty with other bases in the area.

It was something I love'd doing and always volunteered for. I did many ceremonies in the KY an TN area. The folks were very appreciative it was and honor for me to serve them this way.

I would consider it today if there is a need in my area.
