It's a shame, the Honor Guard represents the respect for the deceased, the honor of the Unit, and for themselves. I'd say they failed to deliver on this occasion!

Without getting into the so called honor guard and their foolishness, I would like to give you props for doing what you are doing.
I spent my last 6 mos in the army as NCOIC of a regional (3rd Army) funeral detail and, imo, there is no tougher duty...anyone who volunteers to go through many of them gets a ton of respect from me.
