It'll have to be different conservatives than we've had so far. Remember this started in 2006 - under Bush. Both parties are to blame.

I think we need a president who knows the power of the US and isn't afraid to use it, and doesn't care if he/she p!sses people off in the process.

That is just a rhetorical trick by the reporter to make a false statement and not have it directly attributed back on herself. You can always find people who are critical of one thing or another; doesn't mean they are right or even sane critics.

Did she state who the "critics" are? If so, are any of them centrists or moderates in their political viewpoints?

ok. so looking into it more i am somewhat confused.
we know that a section was closed off in 2006
    http://www.fws.gov/southwest/refuges...Fs/Closure.pdf
which was 3500 acres. From what I had initially gathered, this new section is 80 miles long (ei way more than that).
Can anyone provide some hard data as to where these signs are actually posted and what areas they are referring to?

thats a huge difference than what you are saying in your posts/summary of what Fox is saying, I didn't see/hear fox say the things your claiming
I am not claiming to have said anything. Megyn Kelly from FOX news gave the report on this link. I quoted her words (hype) exactly.

i was certainly consfused by many of the statements. this clears it up if this is the case.

In a sense the problem preceded his tenure as president, as he was quite diligently courting votes among the Texas Hispanic community while he was governor of Texas. We sure didn't hear many complaints about illegals from the same quarter we hear from now, back then.

Thank you. EXCELLENT. Isn't the truth from the horse's mouth refreshing.

From the US Fish and Wildlife Service Media Advisory pointed to by friesepferd:
3,500 acres were closed in 2006 and may soon be reopened as

"the Refuge has experienced a significant decline in violent activity in the area
thanks to ongoing cooperation between the US Fish and Wildlife Service and US Customs and
    Border Protection."

I suppose that answers the question, "where have the Feds been."

The USFWS Media Advisory also makes plain, "Recent news items further falsely stated that the closure extends from the border 80-miles to the
north. This distance is far from accurate."

Folks, we can't make good public policy on anything when the wildest of wild claims are propagated and believed by large segments of the population. As Pogo famously said, "we have met the enemy and he is us."

ummm...like I said in the same post....other online reports are saying the same thing-"critics say"....saying that in general critics of this situation/signs/etc are saying that in effect its giving it over to the criminals/Mexico/cartels
I'm saying it, others are saying it, we can all be included in the reporter use of the word "critic", every news organization, tv, print, and online uses this general reporting of info/situation

and so what if they are centrist or moderate....that is irrelevant when we have sub-human murderous dirtbags doing there thing so much in an area that our federal government puts up signs saying to our citizens 'we don't think you should go past this point' instead enforcing our border saying 'we don't think you should go past this point' to them

Good job frieseferd! You have found the truth.

I was SHOCKED to hear that there were some news sources that made claims that were "inaccurately reported" and "falsely stated" and "FAR FROM ACCURATE". lol

Like I said...FOX fabricated a story to pump their ratings. I am truly surprised how many people believe whatever they report.

That crap makes me sick!! I live in the Southwest and grew up in AZ. Just recently a couple of Mexican "Federales" chased some FBI agents away from a crime scene on US soil! Why the hell are we in Iraq when our own borders are under attack?

first its not Megyn Kelly, its Shannon Bream (Megyn must have been out for some reason)
next....your post to which I replied said some things that were not said by Megyn(Shannon) in this video....yes I watched it the first time the link was posted, no need to post it again

[What I'm saying is FOX reported a story that had many false statements that was manufactured to create headlines. They lied. Once again they fire up the viewers to gain ratings. They made the story much more inflammatory.

#1. Biggest lie... Obama is "giving a major strip of the U.S back to Mexico"

#2. Closing the park all along the U.S. border

#3. "Closed the park 3 counties deep. Well into Arizona."
    ]

"CRITICS say the administration is IN EFFECT giving a strip....."

big difference in what you quote in 1., its not fox lying, its them reporting what people(critics) are saying about the signs and the policy...may be a "technicality" but it is different that how you put it in your post

next, maybe you're just not understanding what was being said....if it was in print it would look like this:
"U.S. Fish & Wildlife have closed a portion of the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, all along the border, warning visitors......."
....meaning the portion they closed was located along the border....not that the entire park located along the border was closed--difference

the 3 counties deep part was said by the Sheriff in the interview...him saying where the signs were put up and what has been going on in those areas and his county,
neither Fox, Megyn Kelly, or Shannon Bream said anything about 3 counties deep

so no...you did not quote her words exactly

whats more sinister than letting the drug cartels/thugs/criminals that Mexico isn't doing anything about...come over to OUR soil and do what they want and at the same time telling our citizens to stay out because its too dangerous...all while our government does nothing about it

yeah....but we're NOT clearing it....we saying stay out of this area...in effect we are letting the cartels have free reign on the area

[QUOTE=HopyardIf the news story simply stated the truth, that there is an area where it is now too dangerous for ordinary folks to go, I wouldn't have jumped into this discussion.[/QUOTE]
the news story was stating what other people are saying about the situation...just like a lot of news stories do
