Well I have been back a few months now, I was away from the family
for 14 months and it was not easy getting back into the swong of things. Yes I was jumpy and driving was difficult.
I was constantly scanning my sector and everything was suuspect. My wife and children had grown and changed, I had also. It took alot of patience and work. But together we got through it, the sleepless night, short temper and all.
Just be patient and understand that both of you have been through this deployment. And yes, I carried the very day I got home.
Thanks for your service brother and welcome home

I hate kicking the proverbial dead horse, but patience and communication is the key!
Take things the family says seriously. Take it slow, and seek help if needed, There is no shame. Whether you think so or not, you have been through ALOT, and so has she! make sure that it is not all about you, but rather both of you! Take Leave and be with your family, it is very important for all of you! Take time to get to know your kids again.
Have a safe trip home!
About the carrying, If you feel comfortable...do it.
