Prosecutor says shooting of Blacksburg man was justified

    http://www.roanoke.com/news/roanoke/wb/255475

The fatal shooting of a drunken Montgomery County man who held two knives as he approached officers in June was justified....

    ....

Within arm's reach of the second officer, Smith moved the knife from his throat and toward the officer. Light fired.

Anytime a man comes at you with a knife Police Officer or not you should use a firearm to protect yourself if you have one, Police Officer or not. What is the point of your post? Are you aware of how deadly and underrated edged weapons really are? If anything Police Officers are more justified because they are trained in how dangerous blades are and have seen the results of people who delay in reacting or misjudge the carnage they can cause. The caliber press training film of surviving edged weapons is one I highly recommend. It will open the eyes of those who think using a gun against a knife attack is excessive. Horray for the Cops who wen't home that day. MORE POWER TO THEM.

    Suicide by cop.
I believe the point of the post was information. There was nothing by the op suggesting the action was inappropriate.

Maybe I should have added prosecutor in the OP.

Anyone, who has read a few of my post know I am Pro-LEO.

A few magistrates and still fewer States Attorneys, OTOH , seem to be in another world, on occasion.

I still have that calibre press video and watch it from time to time. I also have the one on "Hostage Officer Survival" and reviewed it last week too.

Yeah, the point being there seems to be some logical folks in the commonwealth attorney's office.
Especially in Roanoke, a well known anti gun media outlet.
