Note the lead-in introduction to the video clip:

There are some real good hostage negotiators out there, then there is China.
Not a lot of explanation around the video, other than that woe-is-me introduction. Assuming that was in fact a violent attacker who had threatened a busload of people and found himself cleanly eliminated for it, I can't see the problem. Kudos.

    Cool

No real information about how it started or what he wanted. That's a pretty large knife he is holding at that womens throat. He is talking on his cell phone or texting. He made a decision to put himself in that situation. The police made a decision to eliminate the threat.

Having been on a very similar situation, given the apparent threat level, the outcome is the same as the one I was on and I can find no fault with it.

The hostage taker seems to have accepted the latest offer as he voiced no objections.

He will not be a repeat offender.

Not sure why they bothered to cuff him after that. Did they think his brain would magically re-generate?

Pst, hey buddy. Lean over, I have a secret for you.

I saw a similar "negotiation" in China somewhere with a guy holding a hostage in a window. The Negotiator leaned over from a window behind him and had the same discussion as this guy.

Another convert...repeat offender (guessing on that, but still an offender), to dead offender.
I have no problem with that transformation, and the police will never have to deal with that problem again...unlike some places where dirtbags have a rap sheet bigger than an encyclopedia.
