    Sad knowing that when I go to school this morning none of my teachers will be talking about what this country is now thanks to our soldiers, marines, airman, and sailors who have died for it.

    Today in our local newspaper there was an article about a 5th grade teacher who deviates from our "prescribed curriculum" to have her students hear about our veterans and write them personal letters. Seems the teacher was a guardian angel escort on one of the flights they have for veterans to visit Washington and it made an impression on her. She now shares that with her students. Makes one feel good that our young ones hopefully are exposed to the sacrifices others have made for our freedoms today.
