I know this isn't a dog discussion board and if the mods see it as inappropriate, please feel free to remove this but, working dogs are very near and dear to my heart.
There is one sitting next to me right now. We're not in law enforcement but, his sire is so, his breeding and training gives us comfort and a layer of security. Most importantly, he's our bud.
This is in honor of those working dogs risking it on the street everyday.

There are few bonds stronger than a Police Officer and their partner. When that partner is a Police K-9 the bond seems extra special. More than one officer owes a great debt to a Police K-9. Tears flow anytime an officer or his/her K-9 goes down. Those dogs are more than animals, they are four legged guardian angels. May they always be ready to help us guard against evil. They give so much and ask for so little.

Don't do things you don't want to explain to the Paramedics!
Stupidity should be painful.

Sometimes we do forget about them. Thanks for reminding us steve. They to ask for so little and give more than we can imagine.

I could not help but keep teared up the whole video....brings back memories of my girl I lost just over two years ago (not my current dog in the Avatar).
She was a Malinois/Shepherd mix bred from a K9 male....broke my heart.
If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.
Im a big fan of the .22LR for bear defense.
Just shoot the guy next to you in the knee and run like heck.

I was a K-9 Officer for six years. Eiko was more than a partner, he was a member of the family. I spent more time with him than I did my wife and kids and he saved my butt a couple of times. When I was promoted, Eiko was retired and given to me by the department (he was starting to have physical problems). Two years later his condition declined and I had to make the decision to have him put down. This was one of the hardest events in my life and I won't lie, I cried like a baby and buried my face in his fur as he breathed his last breath.
