While there is no good time for these things, around the holidays is particularly traumatic for the families.
I think that the comments that often come from the family of this kind of criminal are merely the inability of the family to admit to themself or anyone else that a close relative is that evil and of no redeeming social value.

Retention holsters, it will literally save your life.
These should be mandatory as an equipment specification (level 3 type suggested, Level 2 as minimum) for all police everywhere who are not on plain clothes detail (sidearm exposed).
