Deputy shot, suspect killed.
Details are sketchy at the moment, but just heard a blurb on the news a moment ago that a suspect in a muder trial was shot outside of a courthouse in NC.
Suspect was in transport from the prison to the courthouse to stand trail or sentancing when he went for a Deputy's gun. The Deputy wsa shot in the shoulder, another Deputy shot and killed the man.
I checked the local news website, but nothing was said of it as of yet. Post more when new info is avaliable.

Inmate Killed in Courthouse Struggle After Shooting Sheriff's Deputy
Wednesday, July 12, 2006
JACKSON, N.C. — An inmate grabbed a sheriff's deputy's gun inside a courthouse Wednesday and shot the officer, then was killed during a struggle with other law enforcement.
Willie Forrest grabbed the officer's weapon and shot him in the arm around 9:20 a.m., said Karen Cole, a dispatcher with the Northampton County Sheriff's office.
As a second officer struggled with him, Forrest fired another shot into the air. A third deputy shot and killed him, Cole said.
Forrest, 37, was serving 56 years in prison for an attempted murder conviction in 2003. He was being transferred from Jackson to a prison in Raleigh at the time of the shooting in the Northampton County Courthouse, according to WRAL-TV in Raleigh.
The wounded officer is in good condition, authorities said.

Glad the officer is in good shape and glad too his buddy managed to put the perp away.
These cases are worrying - when a BG manages to grab a cop's gun.

Sorry to hear about the Deputy.
On the positive side the taxpayers won't have to support him for years. This guy seemingly didn't have to many redeeming qualities.
