    Thats racist.

In all seriousness, "open" border = money, money for mexico, money for rich employers skirting irs, money for federal, state and municipality LEO, money for CIA, money for ICE, money for DHS, money for DEA...... the only one it costs is the taxpayer and we all know they don't give two jack $#^# about them.

The sooner people realize this, the sooner they figure out why no administration Republican or Democrat has done a thing about it.

Barron, a Mexican, attempted to cross the tall fence between Nogales and its sister city in Arizona of the same name under cover of night, police said in a statement.

"At that moment (as he was climbing the fence), a United States Border Patrol agent shot at him, sending him falling onto gravel on the Mexican side," the statement said.

Johnson said the incident occurred early Wednesday morning as agents were trying to make the arrests. Bystanders began throwing rocks at the agents, he said, and one of the agents responded by firing a shot at an alleged rock thrower.
Time will hopefully tell which story is true. Not that it really matters for the agents involved as I believe they will be hammered however the investigation goes.

Vote for who? An independent? Never will happen. The people who make the most profits make sure who gets voted in will maintain the 'status quo'.

From the article - "In June, the fatal shooting of a Mexican teenager by a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Ciudad Juarez, across from El Paso, Texas, provoked anger in Mexico and the Mexican government sent a formal complaint to Washington, demanding answers."

Here's an answer - Your citizens want out of your country so badly they will risk death to get out. You have armies of illegal drug smugglers killing your citizens, your government is corrupt and willing to live with the corruption in the country. If you cleaned up your own mess, your citizens would be far more likely to want to stay at home. Quit bugging us when we treat our southern border as you treat yours. Have a nice day.

Vote for people who are not in the ruling class, people who have not been there to create the mess. If we, the people, were to take a stand and not vote for such people, and get principled and vote for people who want to represent the people, not special interests, we would have a vastly different government. We currently have what we have voted in, we can make a difference, if we want to.

In a monetary driven system, which we have, the ones who profit the most (the ruling class) make sure their interests are well protected and maintained. The elected officials get elected by funding that comes from these profit driven entities. One hand washes the other. Unfortunately no matter which side you vote for, you will only see either a Democrat or Republican elected and both are merely puppets of the status quo as azchevy points out.

    +1

You forgot one little thing, however. Open borders = votes. Both partys are eager to register illegals to vote.

We need to secure all the borders. North and south. How many people come in from other areas? Obviously the attention is centered on the situation of Mexico, but threats that are just as bad or worse could come in thru any unsecured area, in particular the northern sector.

I agree and gwb and a republican congress had the perfect opportunity to after sept 11 2001. They would have had majority public support. Yet they did not. That should tell you something right there. The dead stick we have in office now won't do anything nor will anyone after him. Not until we get dirty bombed or nukes go off in a major city will people wake up. Even then the apathy I see after sept 11th tells me we may not wake up. Besides it is much mire lucrative to violate air travellers in this country than actually fix things.

As an Arizona resident on the border I know quite a few BP agents who are consistently assaulted with rocks. Perhaps the dead Mexican was throwing rocks and was shot, but was still able to retreat over the fence. As we all should know, people seldom drop dead following a gunshot wound.

They, the ruling class, on both sides of the aisle are corrupt largely because of the money, but the power does its fair share too.

Let them have the money. If we the people would just wake up (I realize that this is a tall order), the money won't mean anything except profits to networks selling advert time.

This is where we, the apathetic people, most clearly show up. If we grow some steel in our spine and refuse to elect corrupt politicians, we can take our country back. If we demand that our representatives realize they work for us, not the lobbyists, we will reform some and replace others. Its our country, its up to us to hire the right folks to run it. If we hire dolts and reprobates, we get what we asked for.
