Air Force video is not truthful

I just saw this Air Force video. I assume it is for recruitment purposes. Apparently there are several of these "not science fiction...we do it every day" videos but this one shows a FICTIONAL VSTOL transport plane landing on a bridge and plucking wounded civilians from a disaster.

I'm not bashing the AF but I think somebody mad a seriously bad decision using sci-fi to tell us they are not sci-fi.

    Video can be seen here:

I made a comment about that to my wife the other day when I saw it. Oh well. I'm a Marine and I've never climbed a mountain and used a sword to slay a lava dragon.

It's marketing for the video-kids. Nothing more, nothing less, but I agree with you, but I'm not in HR or recruiting either.

Looks like they are reaching for the "Transformer" crowd to me.

Personally my favorite recruiting ad is the one about the minivan.

Ahhh… I still remember the days of basic training when I was in the barracks listening to ‘The Doors’ new releases as I polished my boots. Jim Morrison died before I graduated. Anyway, when I saw the commercial I assumed it was simply illustrating what’s in development, rather than making potential enlistees saviors of the world.

You never got to do that? Dang, you missed out.
The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

You mean that's not a part of The Crucible?

As an E1 or E2, you think it would cross their mind - "who cleans the toilets?".

But no, (for me) it never did until it was too late.

You were West Coast, weren't you? That is a vital part of the East Coast Crucible.

So is playing human chess and sword-fighting the other team.

And standing in historic/scenic places and twirling a rifle.

I did like the recent one that showed a recruit puking from the gas chamber.

Ok, y'all can go back to talking about the Air Force now...

Yeah I was sitting with my fiance watching a movie when this commercial came on. I loudly proclaimed that the tech they were showing does not exist at all or was greatly, greatly exaggerated. She just nodded and smiled.

While the aircraft depicted does not really exist at this time. The Med Evac mission does, and that is what the commercial was hyping. All the branches are only going to show the glory of their mission, not the day to day "grunt" work that takes place for the vast majority of the members.
