BAD - 1 Border Patrol Agent Killed, Another Wounded in Line of Duty
MEXICO CITY – A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent was killed and another wounded in the line of duty Tuesday while driving through northern Mexico, a Mexican official said.
The two agents were driving in the northern state of San Luis Potosi when they were stopped at what appeared to be a military checkpoint, said the official, who could not be named because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the case.
After they stopped, someone opened fire on them, the official said.

These agents were assigned to the US Embassy in Mexico City. Often, the US sends agents to work with Mexican LEO on investigation and enforcement of customs and anti-smuggling operations. I don't know if that is specifically why they were there, but I think it's a reasonable assumption.

Those are not Border Patrol Agents.
The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

Right, not Border Patrol Agents. Embassy agents for training Mexican authorities.

Not "Embassy" agents, either. Special Agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, assigned to the ICE Attache office in Mexico City, and very likely not there in a training role...
I hope to get some more info on this tomorrow at work. I'll let you all know anything that I can.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
