    When the president of the NAACP comes out against it; you know something is horribly wrong.
    We will be much better off when we learn to deal with things as they really are, instead of how we wish them to be!

    So no child left behind is now resulting in a situation where they can't pass the minimum test scores so they now must lower them to allow stupid people into a career that requires a certain amount of intelligence.There are certain things in life if you want badly enough you make sacrifices as in studying.But in todays society failure is not an option as it may be harmful to the individual,why even have a score they need to pass how about if they can sign their names that be good enough,or if they can write an X with 2 signatures that it was dey who dat was signded the X

    It's getting to be "ON THE JOB TRAINING", the only problem with that is you can wind up pretty dead, or sued out of existence before you learn anything!

    Did you mean "pretty dead"? Cause when I read your post the words "mostly dead" came to mind. :)
    It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

    It's always a hoot to watch LCD LEOs testify in court or to read their reports.

    Although the story is from Dayton, you can't blame it on the city. It has been mandated by the DOJ.

    Just another example of "Big Brother" sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong.

    So instead of fixing the education problem, we'll just lower the standards so we all can suffer. Sounds smart to me DOJ. The same thing must already be in place at the DOJ.

    The D.O.J. approved new scoring policy only requires potential police officers to get a 58% and a 63%. That's the equivalent of an ‘F’ and a ‘D’.

    +1 And the sad part about that statement is it has more than a grain of truth to it.

    Well at least the Dumbing down process started with the polititians many years ago.

    From article::

    “It becomes a safety issue for the people of our community,” said Dayton Fraternal Order of Police President, Randy Beane. “It becomes a safety issue to have an incompetent officer next to you in a life and death situation."

    Maybe it will be a win-win.
    The criminals appear to be getting stupider, so maybe the lawmakers just want to give them a fair chance.

    Begin Pun;
    If the police remained as smart as they have, the "new breed of thugs " wouldn't have a fair chance.
    End pun.
    If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.

    Washington didn't use his freedom of speech to defeat the British, He shot them!

    Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy." -- Ernest Benn
