    Uniform Shirts

I'm looking to pick up some new uniform shirts. It does get hot in NY. I want to get the lightest possible short sleeve uniform shirts that I can find. Something breathable, yet durable. I have heard that 5.11 makes some light shirts. Their website has several.

My dept wears navy blue. Any suggestions?

Polo or traditional? Ours are very light, but they are junk. I'd have to go look to see who makes them.

I always thought that 100% Cotton was the way to go for light & cool.

The 5.11 Uniform Shirts all seem to be Poly Rayon these days.

Their "Station Shirts" are available in 100% Cotton.

Thanks QKshooter. I looked at their website. They are almost exactly the same weight. 5.8 and 5.9 oz. I"m gonna wait for some feedback from people who may have been wearing them before I make the purchase. The Poly Ray look like the color may hold up better.

Elbeco makes decent stuff. They have polo shirts with vented armpits that are very light. Google 'em and see if they have stuff that works.

I wear the 5.11 Tactical Series Tactical Shirt in Short Sleeve ROY408 which is 5-4 OZ 100% Cotton and it's extremely cool and comfortable.
    It's available in NAVY.
Don't know if you can get away with it though since it's not officially a "uniform" shirt.
AKA it does not have the Badge Tab, Mic Cord "pass through" or Epaulettes.
You could probably get seperate Badge Tabs from 5.11 in NAVY but, you would have to have a tailor machine stitch them on.

    Here is the style though.
