I agree completely! The US should stop spending their precious money on waging war to protect people that don't even want their help. Spend all that money in homeland security, education, healthcare and scholarships to help the people that do need it and deserve it....AMERICANS!

God Bless all US Troops (Active, Retired and Deceased!). A big thank you from Germany to All!!!!

The Chinook is a great chopper...but its size causes Commanders to put too many men into one aircraft. Better off using several Blackhawks instead of the Chinook, which should be used for cargo instead of troop transport. Too many eggs in one basket.

If I understand correctly, the dual-rotor Chinook does better at higher altitudes in the mountains than the single-rotor Blackhawk. Still, might be better to strip a Blackhawk down to reduce weight than to put so many men in one aircraft.

    RIP to the fallen.

A huge loss. Were there any escort aircraft that could have covered hostles on the ground? Bring them ALL back and put them on our southern border!

Our guys have done a wonderful job over there! However, I think it's time to bring them all home, end the war and just call the mountains of Afghanistan a nuclear test site and lay that place to waste. It would do about 40 billion dollars worth of improvement. Thank you guys and keep whipping their asses until you get home!

The news is reporting that the majority of the fallen soldiers were Navy SEALS.
Seal team six has gotten so much publicity lately, I wish they would have remained anonymous.
Who knows if some Afghan traitor dropped a dime on the mission, I don't trust a single one.

That whole slab of dirt isn't worth the loss on one American, now this.
Get out now, we have no reason to be there.

I was for this engagement at the beginning and still believe we should destroy or disable the enemy to the best of our ability. But the real problem began when CINC stated that victory was not our goal. It is impossible to win a war you have stated you have no intention of winning and announced your pullout ahead of time. After that casualties are a reckless, abominable, too painful sacrifice. I am not bashing our military, I'm a 20 years' worth of active duty Navy retiree. I am disgusted with the leadership or better put, lack of leadership. So yes, bring our troops home if CINC is not going to let them fight to win.

So many felt this would be like a past conflict fought in Southeast Asia 40 plus years ago when we first went into Afghanistan and Iraq.

More and more we are seeing the similarities.

    Enough is enough.

    Bring our troops home.

    They deserve better than this.

It sucks to hear about the huge loss of American military members,They joined the Seals to carry out missions to protect US Citizens and Interests from Tyrranny and Terrorists,It's one thing to go down fighting in a firefight,The Chinook is the only Chopper with enough lift to access higher elevations, but it's a huge target, and over time the enemy will find your weaknesses and exploit them

Bringing our troops home is an attractive idea to me. I do wonder if we do not take the fight to them will we allow our enemy's to build strength
and then bring it closer to us here.

My prayers to those who have suffered a loss.
