Taliban, criminals get $360 million from US taxes
I found a very interesting article:
"... the U.S military estimates $360 million in U.S. tax dollars has ended up in the hands of people the American-led coalition has spent nearly a decade battling: the Taliban, criminals and power brokers with ties to both ... Only a small percentage of the $360 million has been garnered by the Taliban and insurgent groups, said a senior U.S. military official in Kabul. The bulk of the money was lost to profiteering, bribery and extortion by criminals and power brokers, said the official, who declined to provide a specific breakdown … Overall, the $360 million represents a fraction of the $31 billion in active U.S. contracts that the task force reviewed ..."

so who would you blame? for better or worse he's been in charge for more than 2 years, blaming those who were in charge prior to him rings a bit hollow when he himself has done little to end the mess

Too bad we can't get them to show themselves so we can give them another 360 million, in lead and copper jackets of course.

At least you see Bush's war as a mess.. That is a good starting point.. I am not going to defend him because I personally think he could have done more to pull troops out, but instead I will just say this..
In the eyes of most republicans.
Anything good that happened during the Clinton administration was because of Bush Sr.
Anything bad that happened during the Bush Jr administration was because of Clinton.
Anything bad that happened during the Obama administration was because of Obama..

he has not solved any of the problems he claims to have inherited and in fact he has exacerbated all them, obuma is at the best inept and incompetent at worst he is an agent of our enemies, either way he is bad for this country and needs to be replaced

If they only got 360 million dollars they probably didn't file their paper work right....

I would bet that $360 million is the amount that they are willing to own up to, from the stories that have been in the news there probably is a lot more than that. Sad to say, our government (non political statement) has failed our military mightily. We have brave men and women serving this country honorably and we have to hear that the government is basically funding the people that we are fighting.

I hate to break this to you, but a lot of the corruption is from within the ranks of the military, just the other day an officer in Iraq was charged with shaking down contractors.
whenever you have large amounts of money involved with loose accounting there will be someone who will be trying to scam the system, so regardless of who is in charge politically or militarily there will be abuses happening

I'd like to believe that the money went to a "Black Ops" program
to kill off certain foreign nationals, ala Vince Flynn and Brad Thor.
But in reality, Afghanistan works on "baksheesh" which means "bribe". That's how things get done.
We bribe them, the Taliban bribes them, the government is totally corrupt, down to the lowliest street cop. It's a way of life.
