This is a city that recently disbanded it's 50 person police department to save money and now has sheriff's patrols instead. It has fallen from 16th largest in the state in 1990 to 25th today, following the closure of a number of GM facilities. We used to live here before my Air Force days and it had it's problems, but nothing like today. It serves as a sad commentary and example of what has happened to many cities in the Rust Belt.
