I was on the first incident. It was something I'll never forget. Still thankful no officers were hurt on that call, or the others.

Police: Man fatally shot in head | Amarillo Globe-News

It was originally a fire call. Officers got to the house as FD was arriving. FD started putting out the fire in the garage as officers went to the house so see if anyone was in there. The man had already shot and killed his son and came around the corner raising his gun and saying 'I just killed my son'. No guns were drawn as this was only a fire call and were only checking on the property owner. Everyone got back out the door to get to cover and one officer drew and fired at the man as he had followed officers to the door. Before anyone says anything about not hitting him....the officer was falling back and to the ground getting behind cover when he fired the 3 rounds. Such a sad ordeal for the family, and such a gut-wrenching sudden change of situation for us.

Some say bad things come in 3s. Maybe things will settle out for a bit... at least until Halloween.
    It could be worse!
    I suppose

Sometimes you can go for weeks in relative calm, then all hell breaks loose in a couple days.

It's getting crazy out here. Be careful.

It seems like things run in a series of events like that.

As much as we'd like to at times, you can't let your gaurd down, especially when your on the street. Stay safe, and prayers going out to all the officers involved. It's not an easy thing, taking a life, even when you have no choice.
