    Sniper Detectors ?

Gunshots ring out in the dead of night, and not a single person reports it. Yet police know exactly where the shots came from, even before they arrive on the scene.

More "Big Brother" stuff that will be extremely expensive to implement, blow more taxpayer dollars that could be used for more constructive purposes, and only serve to increase the sale of illegal silencers to the BG's who are already using illegal weapons to commit illegal acts.

Geeezzze, if I go by one of those sensors on my chopped Hog with straight drag-pipes, I'll suddenly have a dozen cops on my trail looking for John Dillinger going down the street while racking the neighborhood with a Thompson subbie blazing away

Big Brother is already in effect almost nationwide. The more technology is given to the "authorities" the more they will use it against us.

Cameras, drone planes, night vision, acoustic devices. . . . all things to keep watch over us.
I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry.

Its not really a sniper detector and the technology isn't that new. It detects sounds which are in line with that of a cartridge being fired. It then triangulates the sound as there are many microphones around the city listening for the shots, the same way Earthquakes are pinpointed ( using triangulation of ground waves in relation to other seismic detectors) except using auditory sensors in this case.

They have these where I live and have had them for a while, but all of the officers who I have spoken with have mixed feelings because sometimes you will receive an alert that a shot was fired but it was a dump truck going over a bump or something along those lines, but it does help direct officers to a potential crime scene but there are ways to abuse it.

Shot Spotter has been in use in Phoenix and Mesa and a few other cities in AZ for a few years now.

Yeah I know for several years in the phoenix area it has been a big deal expecially around new years to catch the idiots shooting their guns into the air to celebrate. Common sense is not as common as we all would hope!

A suppressor would negate any shot spotter.
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.

This could sure put a crimp on the fireworks folks around here set off on New Years.
    Another tradition killed by technology.
