6 Officers shot (5 wounded 1 KIA) in Utah tonight

There isn't much info yet, just that a search warrant was being carried out when 6 Officers from Ogden PD and the "strike force" were shot. The shooter was also shot (wounded) and taken into custody while hiding in a shed in a nearby backyard.

I pray for a quick and full recovery of the Officers involved, both physically and mentally.

Not much to comment on here as of now, but I do know that if living close by, I wouldn't be running outside to see what was causing all the gunfire.

One of the officers has died, while the others are in conditions ranging from serious to critical.

Really not much of anything with regard to information about the scenario in that article which basically tells us nothing.
I will make one "rush to judgment" without any information though.
When you have one armed bad guy and the scenario somehow ends up with six shot, criticically injured, killed, ?, police officers.

You are looking at either one truly bad ass sharpshooting bad guy or some incredibly poor police work.

Do not take that to mean that I'm not sorry that there were LEO injured and killed. That is absolutely terrible.

I just can't fathom how it happened.

I hope we can get more information on this one. Unbelievable that this guy could kill one and injure that many. I hope the good guys did not get caught in their own cross fire.

Not a good way to start the new year. Ran in to a local Leo and he said something like 176, officers killed in the line of duty in 2011.

I lived in Ogden a about 20 years ago, I thought it was a pretty nice town. Although I guess things like this can happen anywhere.

Thoughts and prayers to the fallen officer, as well as those recovering.

It was a drug warrant, the BG was "allegedly" growing weed in his residence.

    ^^^^^Can't we just legalize it!!!!!!^^^^^^^^^^^^

I don't smoke dope, don't mainline heroin, don't snort cocaine, don't smoke crack, don't pop pills.

But for the love of all that is holy, can't they just legalize hop???

This would never have happened here.

The Fed's just can't stand not making any money (in the form of taxes like liquor) from all the people who would grow it and consume it.

    This SUCKS.

Prayers, condolences to all officers and family members affected, and an over-all sick-to-my-stomach feeling on this one.

This is the most recent article I could find.

Answers some questions but still leaves many to ask.

Does not appear this was a SWAT team serving the warrant but a combined agencies drug task force group.

Suspect was former military with supposed PTSD according to his father.

Prayers for the officers and their families.
