The ultimate sacrifice...but you'll never hear about this fine hero in the news.
Sad...that our soldiers don't get the positive credit for the many things they do.

May God bless him and hold his family and friends close.

Now I want to see the Afghans praising this act the same way they protest other events. Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

Sometimes... it's what we do when we react before we have time to think, that show who we really are.

That soldier and father gave his all, because that's who he was.

I pray protection, comfort, healing and Grace for his family.

Please do not use this soldiers selfless act to make political statements at this time. That should be for anther thread.

With all that is wrong with this world, there still is very much that is right, especially with regard to our military.
God Bless this brave man and his family.
    Prayers sent.

Lame Stream Media will pay little notice to this which is very sad. They will only hype the ugly news. Shame on them.

He didn't save an Afghan child. He saved an innocent child. All children are born in innocence. Truly selfless and heroic. R.I.P.
Now he leaves 3 of his own children behind. That is very sad.

I was pleasantly surprised to first see this story on the "mainstream" national news...ABC, if I recall.

With God's grace, maybe his selfless act will bring some peace to that region.

Prayers for his own (now fatherless) children, and for their mother.

    RIP

And, let us not forget to pray for the driver of the MRAP that accidentally ran him over. That soldier's gotta be taking this hard, too.

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

May the legacy of his final heroic act live on in the lives of the three children and fiance he left behind. God bless him and his family. And I echo 10thmtn's comment about praying for the driver of the MRAP. Tough day for lots of folks.
