The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division was also contacted. A SLED officer stated Sherlin is only authorized to enforce laws at the school, and that “constables are not authorized to carry firearms outside of the state of South Carolina and are in violation of outside state laws if they do so,” according to the document.
So he's not covered by LEOSA? Or is he specifically prohibited?

sounds like he needs to know the law better...it is his own fault...

he really should have known that his ability to carry was only for his state

LEOSA is not a get out of jail free card. It is not a free pass to carry anywhere one wants. While he may have been perfectly legal on the street outside LEOSA does not let one carry in federal buildings, gun free school zones or any other place prohibited under federal or local laws.
Even if he meets the statutory requirements for LEOSA it is not really relevant other than the weapon in his car and even that could be questionable after his initial arrest.
