Obviously no "magic bullet" here.
It's not the hits that count it's the hits that do damage and break things that stop the fight.

Another example of why I won't carry a .22 or a .380 (the officer most likely had either a 9mm or .40 cal.). Most likely on drugs and that can be so hard to stop someone when they are. Also goes to show that you never know what you might end up in and it isn't always going to go as planned.
Some Pennsylvania prison is going to become a much tougher place if this guy recovers.
he must have been using that crumby fed HST ammo.... should have used zombie max
Why did he stop at just 7 rounds.
He had to have had at least 12-16 rounds, if it was a .40, and more if it was a 9mm.
Shoot until the threat stops, right?
Perp would have caught a couple to the throat/head region
Head shot...head shot!
6'1" tall,320 pounds, you gotta use those armour piercing rounds for that.
Just shows that things can go very wrong for anyone...including LEOs. Too bad he didn't send that madman to his maker. I hope the Officer will be ok.
Keep shooting until the threat is removed. That close, a head shot would not be that hard.
Why would you "draw" your radio while being pounded on with your own ASP?
I would have been shooting until slide lock.
Why did he stop at 7 shots was my first thought?
I would imagine the officer only got off seven shots because he was worried about having a clear backstop. It's also possible that his gun jammed after the seventh shot. If the gun was being fought over, it could fail to cycle completely after a shot.
people....shoot until the threat is stopped
no matter what gun you are using, what caliber, what ammo.....if the threat is still there and you can shoot it once you can shoot it a bunch!
not criticizing this officer, he did what he had to do, just saying this incident makes for a good training point
glad this officer is going to be ok, I hope the dirtbag rots in prison
Looks like shot placement played a role. Marksmanship goes out the window when you're fighting for your life.
Where are Rev. Al & Rev. Jesse ("The Justice Brothers") outrage over "Suspect Brutality" and violating this police officers civil rights?
