SEMPER FI DEVILDOG!
40fiver, thanks for that link. If you can read that and not be moved, you ain't human. I wish they'd make understanding the cost of freedom a required course in schools. There is something I've done in the past and will do in the future. I wish someone had done it for me when I was in uniform but those were different days. When travelling or where ever and I see a person in uniform I walk up, stick out my hand for a handshake and say "Thanks from a vet". You might be suprised at the response. If I'd been on that plane next to that marine that would have been one of the most heartfelt "thanks" I've given.
Ditto: ~ THANKS! 40FIVER :yup:
Very powerful. Thank God for all our brave young men.
that this was powerful?
My wife, who could care less about this forum, just walked through the room and I asked her to view these two pic's.
She took her time, (like...ok, I'll read this...)...
She was really taken back and started to cry...it got me again, too!
I just had to post this second reaction...
Stay safe, and remember our troops!:congrats:

Rest in peace, Marine.
I don't cry, but I must admit that my eyes got a little moist looking at this one. The saddest part is that so many people just don't seem to get it.
Thanks for the story. Strong story. Stories like this one should be required to graduate high school. Maybe more would understand.
Wow, I can not find any words as to how I feel . The love she has is nothing but pure heart. Lord help us in these troubled times, protect those that protect us, protect the soldiers no matter what branch, male or female, from the Marines to the Airforce, the Navy, the Army, National Guard, from the infantryman to the 82nd Airborne Paratrooper, to the Seals and Rangers, cooks and gunners, pilots, Civilian Police that are training security forces, and so on.Please let us never forget those who gave the ultimate sacrafice. I am proud to be an American, I am proud of those who go into harms way to protect us, Wow I don't know what has gotten into me I am like going on here, This has moved me deeply, maybe because I am cop or because my Father was in the military, but this really hit me hard, because I am human, I don't know. Say what you want, but Damn I feel????????????????? God bless us All.
Stand proud Soldiers, Stand proud.
Rest in peace, Devil Dogs'. Thank you for keeping us safe.
I hope this is over soon.
