Chris, I have that print over my mantle and tucked into the corner is a photo of me in the exact same pose at The Wall, leaning on my shipmates who died in Forrestal. Did you notice that the firgure at the far right in the wall, is a woman, a Nurse.

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence in their behalf. - George Orwell
The link to the article in an earlier post no longer works. The link below will get you to a slide show as well as the original article. It is a great article -- highly recommend.

Godspeed Marine.
Why do you own a fire extinguisher when you have the fire department to protect you?

There is another sight that haunt me every time I see ''Reflections.'' I have never seen a "picture" of it, outside of my mind's eye.
When I was working in DC, I often went by the Wall. Sometimes just passing, sometimes to visit. There were always a man or a few men, (about my age or a bit younger) off a ways by themselves -- literally by themselves, spread out. Sometimes only the "regulars." Often a new face -- for a day, or so.
Most tourist never noticed them, or had any idea who they were.
But the Vet organizations knew. They were the men with "survivor quilt" or too many flash-backs, or just too much pain. They were drawn to the site, but couldn't get but so close. The organizations approached them very gently -- want to reach-out, but not wanting to scare the off.

I'm just one root in a grassroots organization. No one should assume that I speak for the VCDL.
I am neither an attorney-at-law nor I do play one on television or on the internet. No one should assumes my opinion is legal advice.

As a guy that doesn't show alot of emotions around my wife, these always bring me close to tears and I have to chock back a sob, God bless all our troops, especially those in harms way and those that have the ultimate price. They will always be remembered in my house!

Those pictures are hard to look at, but we must. We must honor our fallen brothers and sisters who have sacrificed all.
Thank you to all that have served. I KNOW my daughter sleeps safer at night, and has freedom in the morning because of YOUR sacrifice for her.
Your dedication is not forgotten. It is not lost.
Stunning... don't know what else to say, other than "thank you" to every single man and woman that ever did a push-up at Paris Island...
"Who is to say that I am not an instrument of karma? Indeed, who is to say that I am not the very hand of God himself, dispatched by the Almighty to smite the Philistines and hypocrites, to lay low the dishonest and corrupt, and to bust the jawbone of some jackass that so desperately deserves it?"
We owe our fallen soldiers, sailors and airmen our deepest respect and honor. Their families know the true cost of freedom.
Bless all those that serve!!!
