Aggies Build Human Wall to Keep Westboro Baptist Church from Protesting Funeral
The lieutenant colonel said he was surprised to see many line the streets Wednesday when Tisdale’s body was brought in from Austin. He said it prompted him to ask a woman on a sidewalk if she knew Tisdale.'The woman said, ‘He is a son of Aggieland — there’s no strangers here on this road,’”.
this is a great Friday story to close out a week. you have to love Texas and their loyalty to fellow Texans

Have had to deal with them twice now.. Once when they picketed at the White House Easter Egg roll in 2007. Once for a soldiers funeral.. Living in KC, we have to see them with amazing frequency.. Wish they would all just go away (that's the nicest way I can put it!)

Very cool. There is a special place reserved in Hades for that cult.

Westboro is not a church, I repeat, NOT a church.
They are a hate group hiding under the disguise of a church.
REAL Christians do not harbour belief as they do.
Amen and amen.

Apparently the Westboro saying they are "Bapsitst" is like all the radicals saying they are "Muslim" (if the majority of the non radical/extremist/terrorist Muslims are as peaceful as we keep getting told).
Anytime I see that cult (and IMO they are not a religion....but a cult) I get a little sick feeling in the bottom of my stomach. I have seen them "protest" at solider s funeral and Hell may be too good for those "people" for lack of a better name.
It is good to see how the nut jobs were blocked. I hope everyone sees how and it can be repeated every time that bunch shows up. Good job on the block.
This young man was killed for a stupid, selfish reason of some spoiled punk who couldn't live by the rules of honor. It would really be a insult for this Westboro bunch of "wack a doodles" were to make any more of a impression on this solemn occasion.

Kudos to those safeguarding our fallen and their families.

Being an Aggie I can say that I have never run across another university where the camaraderie is greater. As the woman said, "...there are no strangers on this road...", and I've yet to meet another Aggie that I would call a stranger.

The WBC folks should learn cheerleading/gymnastics. Then they could get a few members to sneak through the sewers, and then vault their members over the wall (to be caught by the sneaking members).
Plus, a WBC cheer squad would be pretty cute! I wonder if it's seen as being unreasonably effeminate to be a male on a cheer squad? l0l
