A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Polymer plastic. It's amazing stuff and it keeps getting better and tougher.

And Firearm Polymer is in no way related to the plastic that Mattel makes toys out of.

I am just happy that that the 1911 was selected which has nothing at all to do with any polymer pistol NOT having been selected.

Colt invested heavily in advanced "state of the art" CNC equipment. Their handguns are coming out super nice these days and I am just pleased that they got the contract because I personally love the 1911 genre of semi-auto.

So....quite naturally I think it was a wise decision.

Actually I am hoping that DETONICS finally gets the ball rolling on their (gulp) polymer framed .45ACP handgun which is pretty doggone innovative and impressive in design.

I'd love to buy one and try one.

The DETONICS MTX - This is (hopefully) going to be a great handgun.
That is a pretty cool looking pistol.

Being an old Jarhead, I think the reason they chose a steel gun is because of the mission of the Marine Rifle Squad, " to locate, close with, and kill the enemy, or to repel the enemies assault through fire and close combat".

The all steel pistol is better up against someones "grape" in that last part.

True that. Steel guns are much more suited for a good pistol whippin'.

Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~Paul Howe

Is the clapping guy from Citizen Kane?
It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.
