Good info, IIRC I believe those two boys at Columbine followed that same pattern.

The sooner an on- or off-duty officer or citizen intervenes with an effective, efficient act of courage, the fewer casualties there will be
Glad the author doesn't expect only LE to end the situation.

Good article showing the leadup to such events.

The only common sense gun legislation was written about 226 years ago.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

Not to say the 5 step flyer is bad however, keep in mind that not all active shooters follow the 5 steps..........

good info for everywhere, and as others have said....none of them are the same

I especially like the emphasis on the shooter has to be stopped....they will continue until they are stopped or out of ammo, the sooner someone stops them the less lives will be lost

    and I like this:
There is a risk in doing something, but the greatest risk lies in doing nothing.

This holds true in many cases, but sometimes people just get it in their head that their ex-old lady and her new, unsuspecting boyfriend, the dog and all the kids must die, and they just grab whatever and roll with it.
I would rather die with good men than hide with cowards
