    Thanks for the replies!

I was quite sure that the guy was blowing smoke but I was curious about the .357sig. I love the round but can't see our military using it for all of the reasons stated by others in this thread.

I guess I can see some sort of very secret agency using such a round, but I can't see someone having recently belonged to said agency boasting to strangers at the gun counter about it. He's probably a pathetic wanna be

All but two of the Special Forces guys I've ever met, I met while serving with them. I have yet to meet one at the gun counter of my LGS.

The two I didn't meet in the service I met at church. One friend, who was a SEAL for close to a decade, I met while singing in my church when I lived in San Diego.

6th Special Forces Group had once existed. It was deactivated in 1971 out of fort Bragg.

Well I retired so long ago that back then we carried 38spl in either a S&W model 10 or 15 depending what command post had at the time.

Yep I know, I was asking if the 6th SF was a typo, like maybe he meant to hit 5 instead.

The LGS I frequent have too many people who know better, either employed or customers, for somebody to pull fairy tale stories.

My little cousin was an 88m in Iraq and he still doesn't talk about it, can't imagine any SF just being open in public. lol
