Concealed in AZ carry at 18 if deputized?
Hello everyone this is my first post here on defensive carry and hopefully I put it in the right section!
It was between the LEO and concealed carry issues section so I chose LEO.
Anyway,
Lately I have been strongly considering applying to be a volunteer deputy in AZ under Maricopa county. I am a very passionate outdoorsman so I would
most likely apply for the desert search and rescue posse. I was lost in Voodoo canyon in northern Arizona with a small group, that included my dad, for three days (long story) and now I am looking for a way to give back.
Basically I am curious as to whether being a deputy would also allow me to conceal carry at 18 legally. I tried to find an answer to this but it seems to be a question very few have asked. I already open carry daily but if I was able to conceal because of being deputized that would be icing on the cake.
I appreciate your responses and hope to make this the first of many posts on defensive carry.

My understanding is you must be 21 to be any sort of leo and you must be 21 to carry concealed with and without a permit.

I am going to correct myself I just read you only have to be 18 to volunteer for the posse.

G'morning, interesting bit of data in the program --> Posse members who wish to carry a firearm must undergo seventy-three (73) hours of firearms training, undergo psychological testing and consent to a urinalysis in order to qualify to be a Qualified Armed Posseman (QAP).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With proper credenitals and the above training, I tend to think that almost all LEO in Az will not push it. However a simple call to the Sheriff would clarify it.
A Volunteer Deputy is not a full time LEO, so I do not think you would be able to carry concealed, especially when you are not actually performing LE duties.
