That was just awesome!
Nothing like the M1 Garand. Even after being around for over 70 years, that rifle is still great. I know I'd love to have one.

Awesome!
I am a proud owner of a SA M1 Garand. Mine was built late '56 or 57 and when I hold it I can't help but wonder what it's back story is.

Great story.
My wife's grandfather fought in Korea but never talked about it to anyone. He was a great guy, friendly, and soft spoken. When I received my first CMP Garand he came by to visit us for some reason. He saw the rifle, asked if he could handle it, began working the action and crying. He told me stories about how the M1 saved his life so many times, showed me a few things I didn't know, and just seemed extremely happy. He never talked about it again, but for that short time I saw how passionate he was about the rifle, and how many good memories he had from what seemed to be a difficult period of his life.
It is heartwarming to see things like this.
Wow it's amazing that he found the same rifle
