How would anyone know who is or is not a member of the NRA..... I am a member, but I dont display stickers on my car, or advertise as such in any fashion.

    Exactly.

How would he know he'd never arrested a Methodist, or a Quaker, or a vegan, or someone who knits and embroiders? Sounds like a bit of BS to me.

"Don't arrest me, I belong to the NRA!"

What a blantantly BS statement to make. How would you know if you didn't make it a point to ask every individual you arrest if they belong to the NRA?

Anyone who pays is an NRA member, and they mail out sticker to everyone. I think it likely that a lot of NRA "members" have negative law enforcement contact. Best to keep that off the press's radar. If you do dumb things or drive rudely, scrape the sticker off your car first.

And I have never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. Although I am not a lawyer, I do sometimes play one on the internet.

I met a guy named Dave a couple of years ago. Dave has a PhD from Vanderbilt University. Therefore, everyone named Dave has a Phd.

Hmmmm, guy IMO is lying or just fabricating something. Living in a small town in NH (and small surrounding towns) you get to know the population pretty good. I used to read the arrest page in the local paper every week and guess what? Many folks that I know are in the NRA get arrested quite frequently for DUI's, domestic violence, whatever.

It does not mean that NRA members are good or bad. It just means that they like guns.

I seriously hope NRA members don't go spouting this nonsense to people like it is a truism.

"I have never once arrested a member of the NRA" Maybe there was more that they didn't print, like, "Some, I have arrested three or four times".

That was my first question. Along with all the hype about this and that percentage of NRA members want this and that .... The sponsers of the presently debated " BG check" legislation are both supposed to be NRA menbers but I question whether they represent my views or not. NRA is just a group that you join by paying a membership fee ... no other criteria...guess we need to get a NRA badge to wear with our CCW badge so that people know we are the "right kind" of people because we are NRA members.

I reserve judgment until a mental health official chimes in because I have seen some that make me cringe. :)
