The Doolittle Raid April 18th 1942, the last reunion

Famed World War II aviators hold final reunion - WSFA.com: News Weather and Sports for Montgomery, AL.

Thomas Casey, business manager for the Raiders and a longtime fan of the men, said the four survivors have decided they can no longer keep up with the demands of group public appearances.

"The mission ends here in Fort Walton Beach on Saturday night, but their legacy starts then," he said.

Down to the last four...no words are adequate.

I took these photos and video last year during the reunion at the National Museum of the USAF.

I hope they at least get to enjoy that Cognac!
The numbers are quickly dwindling of what many of us grew up knowing as the Greatest Generation. I'm proud to have had the chance to meet just a few of them if even for only a brief minute or two here and there.

Great story, great men. Not only did the impossible, survived it and told the story...

And for some reason when I read about the last four, the monitor goes a bit blurry...
    Rats!
    It could be worse!
    I suppose

So sad we are losing about 700 WWII vets per day at this point. If you have a WWII vet in your family, PLEASE record their stories while you still can!
