My deepest sympathy for his parent's loss. But I know full well they are proud of their son's actions. He will always be remembered as a selfless Hero who gave his life, so others could live. The true meaning of Semper Fidelis, always faithful.

There will be at least two more awarded in the very near future.
My deepest respect goes out to all of the troops that have served with honor,in all of our wars or conflicts, throughout the world.
They volunteered, they went, they sacraficed, so that others could live the American way of life.
My greatest hope is that we will never forget them. -------

God Bless Corporal Dunham.

Nothing I could say would be any better.
When you've got 'em by the balls, their hearts & minds will follow. Semper Fi.

I Think Of Our Troops...
often and certainly respect their dedication...
I am very moved when I view information like this (even without the medal(s) although well-deserved)...
I feel for every mother or father, sister or brother...it is so heart breaking...
There is no greater sorrow than to have your children leave this earth before you...
R.I.P. Cpl Dunham...May the good Lord grant your family the strength to handle this and continue on...

Indeed RIP CPL Dunham.
I was watching a local news deal last night and saw a young marine talking to camera about things in general and how he was willing to sacrifice his life. That segment ended with the mention he was KIA October 22nd Brings it home, hard.
In my local area, yesterday a guy was honored for his WW1 service - he was 111 years old!!!! Amazing.
Bless them all, then and now

I saw that piece about WW1. Said that there were only 17, WW1 veterans still alive today. -------

Everyone...I will tell you...there are more of these stories that are never published...or told in a public forum. Not because they are not proud of their service, but most people cannot understand the environment, or comprehend the sights, sounds, feelings, emotions of what is going on around them...unless you've been there (or are a prior combat vet), you won't understand.
Braggarts are just that...heros don't need to brag.
Thank a vet for your freedom...all of them--whether they served 3 years or 30 years, we all owe them a "thank you".

I hate quoting movies, but i feel this is appropriate.
"When I go home people ask me, they say Hey Hoot, why do you do it man? Why? You some kind of war junkie? I won't say a goddam word. Why? They won't understand. They won't understand why we do it. They won't understand, it's about the men next to you. And that's it. That's all it is."
