    Conserving the peace

I was walking down the road the other day and noticed a police car. After I verified that I was not doing anything wrong, checked where all the surveillance cameras were, checked the sky for drones, etc., , I noticed that the byline on the vehicle was "Conserving the peace". I typically see something like "to protect and serve", "preserving the peace"/"keeping the peace", and the like.

    Here are some dictionary definitions:

Conserve: to prevent injury, decay, waste, or loss of
Preserve: to keep alive or in existence; make lasting; to keep safe from harm or injury; protect or spare.

Interesting use of words. Must be one of those green initiatives.

IMO: Green state, where "conservation" plays better with the public. Marketing twist. Same mission.

They are conserving what peace there is to use when it gets REALLY bad.

Unless you are in Nevada where I think its being changed to "To commandeer and confiscate"
