Philadelphia Police Officer Shot below vest

This is sort of around my neck of the woods and it really gets me angry that we have a guy here who has 12 prior arrests and 5 of them were for assulting a police officer. These judge's need to think. Really? 12 prior's? It's not a gun issue, It's a system issue. Keep these guys locked up!

These type of people Probably aren't going to change. Be it shootings, stabbings, whatever. It's in them to use whatever means to hurt people. Im sure they will blame gun owner's since the gun was stolen, but that's a who different issue.
Hopefully he make's a full recovery.

He said the gun used to shoot Davies is a .45 caliber Glock handgun that was stolen during a burglary in June. A police source tells us it was owned by another police officer in the suburbs.
Wonder if the home was specifically targeted or they just happened on a LEO's house.

This is definitely one perp who shouldn't have been on the streets in the first place.

" He has come through one surgery," said Nutter. "He is in critical condition and has life-threatening injuries."

"This is very very serious," said Ramsey. "Multiple surgeries as a result of his injuries. . . they are very, very serious."
Prayers sent for the LEO. Sounds like it's going to be a rough road to recovery.

Certainly aren't going to change. That's a bad part of a tough city. Sad.

"They say the suspect ran to the back of the store, and when Davies caught up with him, they say he jammed a revolver under the officer's protective vest and fired one shot."

Glock makes revolvers? That must be the most reliable gun known to man!

I hope the officer pulls through.

I left the area back in the late eighties and have never looked back. I used to play in a basketball league in that area. We beat the area team in a game and those fools broke all of the side view mirrors off of our team's vehicles.

I noticed this as well. Get your facts straight, reporters. Please.

I hope the officer makes it. If not, that guy is going down. This will be his last assault on a police officer, I'm sure, regardless.

The other officers "subdued him (the subject)". He had already shot one officer, I wonder why they didn't shoot the perp?

12 priors including 5 assaults on officers, plus attempted murder this time around? Time to eject him from society. His pattern is clear. He's gonna get someone killed, soon enough. Better him than an innocent.

There's no room at the inn...

Prisoners are getting early release for good behaviour, and any other excuse they can come up with...including over crowding. There is only so much space to house prisoners. Bulding prisons isnt the answer.

There are people in prison some of who are evil, some who are sick, and some who are just stupid. As long as we treat marihuana smokers the same as armed robbers, and as long as we treat the drug addict the same as we treat the child molester this is going to happen. As long as we have indeterminate sentencing this is going to happen. As long as D/A's will make any deal on any crime... this is going to happen.

As long as our government wages a war on it's own people, (read war on drugs, war on crime, war on poverty) Were going to locking people up for nonsense. As long as our government recognize criminal penalties for civil wrongs this is going to happen. As long as any government ignore the constitutionally protected rights of ANY people this is going to happen.
