Talking Rage report on new Sig--I'm in love

Went to my normal range yesterday afternoon--CLOSED due to fire danger. Today I got our Under-Sheriff to let me into the City's LEO range. I took the time to put the new holster and mag pouches on my duty belt and shot through 6 mags. First off--after being a 1911 guy for so long, it seemed like I could shoot FOREVER, esp. with the 14 round mags. I did fast reaction draw & shoot from 20 yards up to 5 yds; Lots of deliberate single double action shots; a few careful, single-action head shots; and a few series of quick draw-four or five shot strings, some stationary, some moving and advancing on the target.

While I love my 1911s, I have to say that this Sig is an exceedingly fine, beautiful and deadly piece of equipment. I love the Short Re-set Trigger. My only regret is that I have to take it off my duty belt until our official qualifications in Sept.

Loading the mags is another story, (esp. the last round) the 1911 mags seem so simple and easy

Welcome to a full blown case of Signess. Ain't it grand. Glad you found some 357 rounds. And yes you can shoot it forever. An upla loader will help, you think it is bad loading the last one now(and it is in a new mag) just wait untill it gets cold there and you can't feel your fingers.
Glad you are having fun with your new gun.

Yeah, WHAT MODEL? If it's a P226, I can understand your enthusiasm!

    I have a P226 and I love the thing.

    With 14-round mags, it's either a P229 in .40 or .357 or the new P227 in .45

For loading pistol mags, get a Maglula. For AR mags, get a Striplula.

You chose well!!! I have carried an Elite in 40 and can't see doing anything different. Also have a SAS and Nitron in 40 but the Elite is my favorite. Enjoy!
