My girl and I had packed our range bag and were just on our way out the front door when this went down.
Apparently he is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fan.
Domestic abuse and failure to comply. His girlfriend told the police that he had at least one weapon inside, hence the SWAT team and flash-bangs.
I have to wonder what the real story is. With all the LEO that was present I expected 6-10 people being escorted out in cuffs.
Glad nobody was hurt during this.

All that for a domestic violence rap?? Looked like a siege on a compound I guess those mutant turtle fans are really bad dudes
Shoulda stuck you head out the window and yelled " Shut that dog up or IM calling the cops!! Decent people are tryin to sleep up here!!!"
You dont have to believe a train is coming. Itll run over you anyway.
I kinda think that this is a bit much. I guess they need to find things for a full time swat team to do during the day.
Soooo this is what us firearms owners can expect if someone call's the police for a totally unrelated reason?
lol They'll probably need to mobilize the national guard for some us with extensive collections.
A waste of resources.
I'd bet dollars to donuts the G/F will show up to court and drop charges.
People seem to be missing the "wouldn't come out" part.
sent using CPIP (see RFC 1149)
Maybe they saw the video of the MN officer who shot the guy with the knives, and didn't want to take similar chances.

Now they come in with SWAT and stun grenades. Unless there is more to this (was he suicidal?) then this seems waaay over the top.
And no, I'm not "cop bashing." I served three years as an unpaid Auxiliary Officer myself. This heavy handed nonsense just makes all cops look bad.
The number of people killed because they didn't have "enough gun" is dwarfed by those who had none at all.
I love how everyone knows how this situation should've been handled, yet they've probably never actually had to handle such a situation themselves and don't know any facts or details about the situation. Internet experts crack me up.
I think they should have put some milk and cookies on the doorstep, and when he opened the door, they should've cast a pink soft net over him and had Dr. Phil calm him down.
They'd still need to let him have the milk and cookies though, otherwise that'd be entrapment.

Beat up a female.
It's a felony.
You own a firearm.
Police arrive at your home to arrest you.
You then fail to comply.
The Police are going to take whatever measures are necessary to make certain that they all go home at the end of the day minus bullet wounds.
Plan on buying a new door and at least one box of Band-aids.
It's a guaranteed "NO WIN" for you because they WILL get you out of your home and into custody whatever it takes.
It's as simple as that.
