Some actual high speed gun porn

I am in the unique position to work with some of the best SF operators the US has to offer. I do not claim to be one of them however I do get the full benefit of their knowledge and get to see and use their equipment on occasion.

One such individual to whom I became acquainted with is from my home state of Arkansas. He is a USAF JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) and before he left today to do some traveling he was nice enough to let me take a couple of pictures of his kit.

Depending on what he is doing at the time he has the choice of the FN SCAR 17 or a suppressed M4. The SCAR is also equipped with the FN 40 mm grenade launcher, and the ELCAN 1-6x optic. The M4 is a Colt lower with a Knight upper and Knight suppressor. He chose a Glock 19 as his sidearm. The rail system with the buttstock is the FN configuration for the 40 mm grenade launcher should he choose to set it up as a stand alone unit.

He is the first to admit that humping the SCAR in the mountains of Afghanistan can be a royal pain but the end results are worth it.

Some serious fire power there but that is what it takes to return home safely.

Mods if someone can rotate the pics I would appreciate it. I did it on my computer but they would not attach that way.

I find the long guns very sexy indeed. But what I find most interesting is the presence of the G19, rather than a Beretta or Sig. Good pics, thanks for posting.

Some of the team members carry M9's some Glocks. NSW mainly carry the SIG 226/228. All depends on what they have available

This may sound really silly, but it is something that was drilled into my head for years:

I love the pics and I'm drooling with the rest of you, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with posting pics of a SOF operators tools on a public forum. Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm a little unsure of this.

Yeah, you're right. Probably shouldn't let the enemy know that our special ops guys have rifles.

There is nothing in this picture that 10 seconds on google couldn't tell anybody. Big surprise, we have M4s and SCARS and Glock makes a compact 9mm.

I just want to know why Combat Controllers changed their name... now I always have to think for a second about who a JTAC is and what they do. Trying to complicate things for this old guy.

I am by no means in a position to judge this, but my opinion is that this technology is public knowledge and has been for a while. If you look on wikipedia, you can see a list of users of a particular weapon platform, including those pictured.

I think the "loose lips, sink ships" would apply more to not for public knowledge technology or to locations and actions of servicemen.

BM. Nothing in the photo is classified and as stated the same equipment can be found in hundreds of photos online and even on SF pages.

Combat Controllers can function as Air Traffic Controllers while JTACs do not. Otherwise, both can call in air and artillery support.
