    Good training the other night

Our Sheriff dept. recently purchased a "Use-of-force" training device. Interactive, computer driven scenarios that allow the participants to actually employ batons, inert (but interactive) OC, inert (but interactive Tasers) and sidearms. The subjects react when OCd, Tased or shot (or don't react if you missed)

Pretty good training over-all. I ran thru 3 separate scenarios: Call to low-income housing with gentleman in psychotic break, who suddenly produced a 10" butcher knife; a domestic dispute call; and a back-up call for felony warrant (BIG dude who assaulted the arresting officer and went for his gun). Things can happen FAST.

Sounds great. I doubt our local PD could afford this, but, I can always dream
