Interesting sling configurations. The sling on the 03-A3 seems so short, too.

    Thanks for the pic.

    Nice guns!

1903 Springfield. The rear sight suggests an '03A3, but I'm confused by the straight grip stock.

    I'm thinking:
    - Krag
    - 1903
    - M1

Either way, those are some beautiful rifles.

I said 03-A3 because the floorplate looks stamped (and the rear sight).

What do you mean by straight stock, Smitty? I thought straight stocks referred to ones without pistol grips. Like the 30-40.

I mis-spoke... brain flatulence. What I meant to say was that I thought the '03A3 had a straight stock, not a (semi) pistol grip like the nice one shown.

    Well thanks for the pics.

    Here's my USGI bolt actions.
Gator, you can see how the M1917 stands out because of the belly. It actually held six rounds instead of five.

Thanks. The vertical racks are great for display in odd areas.

Is the 03-A3 muzzle "water proofed"?

I think I spend more time letting others shoot them at the Range than I do ..LOL its always great to see a young GI's face when I pull them out and he is just inching to ask .. as I get older I think I spend more time BS than shooting at the Range anymore.
