Why One Cop Carries 145 Rounds Of Ammo......

    Dated April 2013........

There are those who are just hard to stop.

Why one cop carries 145 rounds of ammo on the job

The toxicology tests showed no traces of drugs or alcohol in the shooters system.

Good on the cop for coming out of this victorious.

Wow. I have always heard a .45 was all you needed, but, that BG was determined.
I hate to see what would have happened if he was on drugs.

Interesting article. When my wife and I took our CHL class 5 years ago, our instructor told us and showed us a video re-enactment of a similar incident involving two police officers and one BG where the BG managed to kill one of the officers and seriously wound the second officer after being shot multiple times, including in vital areas, before finally dying of a couple of head shots! And he wasn't on drugs or anything either. And the "sheep" wonder why police and CHL holders don't just shoot to "wound" or why they shoot someone so many times.

He's not one of those Miami cops who fired 377 rounds by any chance, is he?

If he was one of those TV cops, he could have shot all 145 rounds without ever reloading.

Pretty intense story. It makes me feel underarmed with 14 to 21 rounds typically on my person depending on the situation. I think it may be time to consider adding more capacity to my rotation.

Ditto. I had the same thought.

Officer Down: The Peter Soulis Incident - Below 100 - LawOfficer.com

Most have read these before, but they are great family reading for the whole clan.

Above is another where the officer(Peter Soulis) hit the BG(Palmer)22X's from his .40-caliber Glock, 17 of which had hit center mass.

Goes to show you that even when you pay for the good seats, you can get more than you expected sometimes.

Bring enough gun(and ammo) and pray to the Deity of your choice, is about all that one can ask for.

I've never heard anyone say I wish I didn't have all this ammo. Lots of things can be left behind but I always carry as much ammo as I can.

And there are some folks that thought that I was a little over the top when I said I carried 2 extra mags for my primary and 2 for my BUG. I say again I have no back up, no one normally knows right where I am at. This is the way I was taught and knowing that backup was more than likely over a hour out I had to be my own backup.

I think there are only two times you could have too much ammo.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.
