Trooper shot in face still able to stop the threat

    Back around Christmas in Florida...

Now Sergeant Litzell got into a gun battle with a perp. After 3 months of rehab, back on the job. The bullet, which pierced his palate and tongue, and came to rest between his carotid artery and jugular vein, is now his wife's souvenir.

Well done, Trooper Litzell. Glad you are safe, back at work, and able to raise your children.

    Hats off to the officer.
I would have thought with all that damage and injury, he would have been all done.

    "Her" side?

Lucky it wasn't from something other than a .25 ACP. Too many stories about .25 just making the other guy mad.

Glad to hear this story had a happy ending for the trooper.

Trooper Litzell is a warrior. Still fighting after taking a bullet to the face is admirable. Glad he's recovered!

Also a thank you to the homeless man that was able (and more importantly, willing) to provide a statement. May you get back on your feet sir.

One huge lesson here is to never give up. If he had quit the fight, he most likely would have died.
