LEO who support the 2A Rights of US Citizens; you are TRAITORS!
Real Title of Article: Esquire: Police Who Support NRA Are Traitors 'to the Uniform'
Esquire via. (Hat Tip) Breitbart.com
by AWR Hawkins9 Jun 2014
On June 9, Esquire columnist Charles P. Pierce addressed the Las Vegas attack that killed two police officers by criticizing law enforcement's support of the NRA positions on guns. He went so far as to state that a police officer who has an NRA sticker on his personal car window is a "traitor to the uniform."
..."Why are there not a million police officers on the National Mall right now, today, demanding that Congress and the rest of the political elite take even the most gingerly steps toward disenthralling the country from its insane devotion to firearms? Why are police officers not walking off their jobs in protest?"
My Comments: I fully support LEO! I support Smart Cops, not ones who are the few 'Union Controlled Hacks' = mostly administrative and not the ones I meet on the streets. Nuff said. Regardless, I respect and support all LEO until they individually prove themselves otherwise!

I've said it before. Most professional rank and file officers are not our enemy. They mostly went into law enforcement for the right reasons.
But what you see in the author's piece is a glimpse to his authoritarian elitist mindset. That is what is dangerous, not the officers looking to protect and serve.

The "art" of thoughtful commentary is long dead, it seems.
Read just about any "pop media" article on the left (or right). These writers craft articles that would make any 8th grade English teacher beam with pride...and that's about it.

As a retired LEO who has also worked in admin as an LT, I doubt many LEOs pay much attention to some Anti-American, opinionated writer for some 'Leftist .com' as this is a daily event from much of our gov't Reps.
Many LEOs might wonder why there are only 5 million NRA members out of 75 million gun-owners. The political-brass in LE only say what their political environments demand them to say.... if they wish to keep their position.
All LEOs have sworn an oath to "uphold the Constitution of the United States". Any deviants who choose to act otherwise are enemies of the State; traitors..
The same is true for anyone who publicly speaks against our U.S. Constitution. Our 'Bill of Rights are NOT 'laws' nor open to scrutiny.

I'll hit those links and read them later. Sounds interesting.

Contrary to popular belief.... The police put their pants on one leg at a time. Just like everyone else. The Police is made up of your neighbors, friends, just regular people who have a particular job. As such every individual officer has his own opinions, likes and dislikes. All police officers have sworn an oath to the US constitution, the state constitution, and a list of duties including the enforcement of criminal laws. The primary duties of the Police are to protect the people they serve within the constitution, and the law. While Officers may have their own opinions, prejudices, likes, dislikes, sexual preferance, favorite flavor of ice cream, and opinion of non sworn civillians being armed with firearms. None of this is allowed to effect the way they conduct their business as a police officer.
Law enforcement is another story. law enforcement is a police officer or agency that dedicates it's efforts towards enforcing the law. Using every tool available including intimidation and unlimited force. The military environment of law enforcement does not allow for independant thinking or individual morals. Anything that threatens, or is considered against the mission wil not be tolerated.
The truth is there are far too many laws regulating far too many facets of life. Most police officers understand this and posses common sense and will accomplish the goal of a safe community without being overbearing.
Unless the jerk-off who wrote this artical has worn a uniform, made a death notification, helped a mother deliver new life to the world, seen an abused child, helped a family understand, how they might deal with an issue, smelled a ripe DOA, had the loss of a friend and fellow officer for some foolish reason, tried to comfort a woman who's had her humanity forceably taken from her He has nothing to say. Unless he came home and was asked by his wife or child what he did today... and cant answer becaus he dont want them depressed or afraid... This guy is nothing more than a blow-hard, piling on a sad situation for his own selfish reasons. This guy is the worst kind of fecal matter cranium. In sum and substance he's saying that if one of the officers killed supported the 2nd. That he's responsible for his own death. To hell with this guy.

Police Gun Control Survey: Are legally-armed citizens the best solution to gun violence?
Somebody who has time and inclination should send this link to the author of the liberal article...........

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

Perception is the problem for the uninformed sheep that don't yet realize the lame stream media are libiots(liberal idiots). Only stories of bad/suspect shoots make it in the national propaganda media. All the stories of lives saved/crime stopped/deterred only get local coverage. It's not a level playing field in the media.
For any idiots against lawful citizen carriers, we ought to have a sign or a sticker to hand them that says, "in case of active shooter, do not protect me". They'd then start whining about that.

I am offended by the article and even though I am old, retired and broken down I do not think it would be wise to call me a traitor to my face and that is all I need to say.

I never thought I'd be PROUD TO BE A TRAITOR.......but under that definition I surely am !!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember there being a federal law requiring all vendors, upon selling 1 or more Esquire magazines, to immediately confiscate the purchaser's Man Card at the time of the transaction.
Asked by a CNN reporter "What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist"?, the Marine sniper simply shrugged & replied "recoil".
Now more than ever, we are at war on our home soil ... WAKE UP & arm our troops when they are on home soil!

Unfortunately this country has quite a few idiots in it. And that is one.
To the LEOs don't even pay attention to rumblings like this. Stupid remarks from stupid people. Thank you for your service to the community and even thou you may not hear it everyday but you are appreciated.

I've come to the conclusion that people who call for the disarming of citizens are actually opposed to the morality of self-defense. To them, there is never a justification for defending oneself from attack. They also live in a dangerous fantasy world where the elimination of guns would somehow magically eliminate crime, murder, and terror. Just look at the misguided tweets from people who were horrified that Miss Nevada supported women defending themselves against rape!
Here's a great comment to the article (from the original site: The End Of One Week Of Freedom And The Beginning Of Another - Esquire)

Honestly as a ex police officer I challenge anyone to intelligently debate how gun control will work. The fact is making it harder for law abiding citizens to get a firearm will [not] prevent criminals from getting them. The fact is gun free zones don't work and we blame the driver in a car crash we blame the bomber in a bombing but we blame the gun NOT the shooter in a shooting. This is ridiculous.

Back in the 60 ' s Texas Anti one A NY weatherman jokes if Rape is immanent, then sit back and enjoy it. .. he was fired and banned from TV for that remark. Now basically that's what Libtards are asking women to do rather then defend themselves. They don't recognize evil exists. They just say it's the fault of men.... wishful thinking won't protect a coed from rape. A Firearm will certainly discourage an assailant.

G-d, Make me fast and accurate. Let my aim be true and my hand faster than those who would seek to destroy me. And G-d if today is truly the day you call me home, then let me die in a pile of empty brass.

Good article. Thanks for sharing. After the Newtown shooting the teachers in my area wanted to have the right to CCW into the school. These teachers already have their permits and the teacher union would not allow it. The same teachers probably have their guns locked in the car and are forced to disarm before going to work.

What does a bad guy fear? A good guy/gal with a gun. Simple.
