    "Retired Corporal William 'Kyle' Carpenter, 24, from Flowood, Mississippi, received the nation's top military award in the East Room of the White House, becoming the eighth living recipient for actions in Afghanistan or Iraq. It comes nearly four years after he threw himself on top of a grenade to save his friend, Lance Cpl. Nicholas Eufrazio, while they stood guard on a rooftop in the Helmand province in November 2010."

    Kyle is a true hero and I salute him!

    It amazes me how...IMO, such a racist man, a Chicago political organizer can bestow medals on our Greatest American Heros..........IMO, degrades the Medal Of Honor....sorry.

    The Medal of Honor is presented by the President on behalf of Congress. The president is just a middle man.

    What a sharp contrast of two extremes. There is Kyle, a man that all can say embodies what this country stands for. And then there is the one that presented the medal.
    For some reason, the song "proud to be an American" came to mind reading about that hero.

    He's a tough young man. Read his story and what he's done afterwards.

    God what might our Nation might be if we were all just half the man he is.

    It's even about more than that. It's about all those who aren't here to receive one, and all those whose selfless acts of heroism didn't get witnessed. They only give out a few of those, but trust me, there are a lot more men who deserve them than receive them.

    I've been trying to think how to say this, and can't really come up with the right words, but that may be the most handsome man I've ever seen. It's as if honor itself is etched on his face. I cannot imagine how proud his family is of him, or how blessed they are that he was not taken from them... Words really do fail.
